Jack Auger is an independent filmmaker who is proficient in screenwriting, directing, and editing. His work centers around the need for men to utilize their privilege in meaningful ways, and often times seeks to initiate conversations with men about their role in both enabling their peers and holding them to account. As a recovering alcoholic and drug addict, he also incorporates themes around addiction and recovery, and the importance of accepting help from others.

His work ranges from serious dramas to laugh-out-loud comedies and has been shown in acclaimed film festivals such as Austin Film Festival. His first film, Relapse, won an audience award at Brouhaha Film and Video Showcase and won the juried Best Short Film award at The Art of Recovery Film Festival. His first comedy, Bad Therapist, won the Audience Award at the 2025 Denver 48 Hour Film Project. Currently, Bright Future, just had its world premiere at the 32nd Annual Austin Film Festival & Screenwriters Conference and will continue on the 2026 festival circuit.

Auger was born and raised in Tallahassee, FL and has taken a long and winding path to filming. He used to be a touring musician and has lived in Denver, CO and Detroit, MI. He received his BFA in Film from University of Central Florida, with an emphasis on Feature & TV Writing. He now attends Syracuse University as he pursues an MFA in Film. He now splits time between Syracuse, NY and Denver, CO as he continues to his indie filmmaking endeavors.
